Hawksight's ear twitched and she opened her eyes. The scent of fresh-kill flooded her senses, and her mouth watered. She lifted her tabby striped head and yawned, the kits now sleeping contentedly.
"Smokepaw did well," Bloodspill meowed, carefully keeping her voice neutral. "His defense tactics need a little work, but his attacks were obviously carefully planned."

Smokepaw grinned with pride. Spottedstar replied, "Well that's good. Sparrowpaw here was more of a defensive fighter and Claw said that Frostpaw was pretty much average. Not too good at any one thing, but not horrible either."

Hawksight took a bite out of the sparrow, savoring the taste. "Mm...thanks." The bird's life seemed to be coursing through her body, filling her with energy.

Firestreak arrived back at the camp, immediatly padding to his usual spot, taking a liking to the spot. He sat down, glancing around the camp calmly, in a better mood then before, the time outside giving him time to clear his head. Firestreak yawned, continueing to glanced around the camp intently.

The black she-cat merely nodded, twitching the fur on her shoulders in farewell and padding to the fresh-kill pile. She saw a plump mouse and bent down to take it. At the same time, Tyrant reached down for the same thing, and the pair accidentally touched noses. Embarrassed, Bloodspill jerked away and snatched the mouse, padding away with her ears pressed flat to her skull.

Bloodspill started to wolf down her mouse, eating rapidly and getting to her paws shortly afterward. Tyrant was eating beside Skye, the queen looking like she would give birth any second.

Firestreak sighed, bored even at the camp, standing finally. He padded forward, not expecting anything to happen to spare him from his boredom. Firestreak glanced around at the other clan cats, sighing quietly to himself, bored and, because of the boredom, frustrated. He turned, staring at the entrance to the camp, wanting to return to the outside, but decided against it, not knowing if he would be needed in the camp. Firestreak's tail lashed in frustration, stalking off toward the warrior's den, sitting down outside the den, staring blankly at the ground.

Bloodspill padded over to Firestreak and poked him with a forepaw. "Why're you looking like a tree just fell and crushed your best friend?" she meowed.

Boredom... Firestreak sighed irritably, still staring at the ground. Suddenly realizing his attitude, Firestreak lifted his head, grinning nervously at Bloodspill. Uh...um...Its nothing. I'm fine. Happy. No best friend crushing here. he meowed, trying his best to cover up his aggressive attitude, not seeing it as a deputy's attitude.

Bloodspill shrugged off Firestreak's attitude, figuring it was just the stress. "Have you considered messing with the apprentice's heads?" she mewed, her eyes gleaming with amusement.

"That settles it," Bloodspill meowed. She shoved Firestreak into a clump of bracken and called, "Hey Frostpaw, Snowpaw! Have I got a story for you..." The two apprentices came running, their ears pricked eagerly. "When I was a rogue," Bloodspill began, "there was a cat. He loved to eat young cats about your age and size. Especially white cats with brown paws!" Snowpaw looked horrified, Frostpaw as though she was drinking in every word. "His pelt was gray as ash, his eyes as yellow as the moon," the black she-cat went on. "And he only attacked the morning of a full moon!" She flicked her tail as a signal for Firestreak to come running out of the bracken.

Snowpaw and Frostpaw screeched in shock and darted away, tails stuck straight out behind them. Bloodspill burst out laughing, knowing she'd never forget this...and niether would the apprentices.

Firestreak burst out laughing, falling back into a sitting position, trying to calm himself. He glanced at Bloodspill, finally able to calm himself, once again bursting out laughing, the apprentice's reactions continueing to replay in his mind, each time just as funny as the last.

Streamflower's ears pricked at the sound of laughter and she looked up. Almost instantly, her eyes flew wide with shock. Bloodspill and Firestreak were laughing at something they must've found incredibly funny. Bloodspill....laughing. The concepts don't add up. Streamflower grinned at the warm sound, glad Bloodspill was finally comfortable enough to share a joke with someone else.
