Crusher looked down at Diablo, and growled "You were attacked by a pack of mutants. looks like they nearly killed you. good thing i showed up, or you would've been their next meal". Crusher then heard a roar to his right. He looked for the source, and soon spotted it. it was a Nano. Crusher growled defensively. many predators followed the scent of blood to food, and chances were, this thing was here because it smelled Diablo. it was small, and Crusher doubted it'd be able to get past him and at Diablo, without being killed, but it was still better to be cautious...
Fatalis arrived at the area around the tree, with 3 Albertosaurs surrounding it, jumping to try and catch the small Raptor juveniles in the trees above. "Well what do we have here?" he thought. Fatalis, knowing the Albertosaurs had a tendency to be greedy and fight over food, made up a plan. he started barking at them. they turned around, and snarled at him, hunger obvious in their eyes.Fatalis hissed, and as soon as one started to run at him, he turned around and matched it's speed. he did this so that they wouldn't give up. as expected, the others gave chase, and as soon as they were about 100 meters away from the tree, Fatalis shot off at full speed, which caused them to try and catch up with him. reaching the edge of the forest on the other side of the plain, they gave up, and turned around to head back. Fatalis ran past at a distance of around 50 meters, running at full speed and reaching the tree first, and with plenty of time to spare. as he did this, A Raptor pack showed up. it was Blade, Exile and a few of their pack. Fatalis jumped up into the tree, and hissed "Be careful when your out in the plains. and make a habit of living in tres. it may come in useful. nowyour parents are here. go to them". The juveniles looked at Fatalis admiringly. Fatalis smiled. he jumped out of the tree, and looked at the youngsters, who jumped out after him. he walked over to greet Exile and Blade. one of the raptors, confused, hissed "Where'd the Albertosaurs go?". Fatalis hissed "Behind you". the raptor jumped around to see the Albertosaurs a few hundred feet away, looking like they were dying of exhaustion, their heads drooping and hanging from their shoulders. "Now....what say we scare them off?". The Raptors looked at him as if he was crazy. "There's enough of us. trust me. i've done this sort of thing by myself. it just takes a bit of thinking. when they come up to you, start hissing as loud as you can, and a few of you start encircling them. Dont go too far around them though, or you'll get trampled when they run". the Albertosaurs roared. Fatalis went up to one and barked, then started hissing very loudly. the leader of the Albertosaurs stopped, the other 2 soon doing likewise. Fatalis started barking, which, to the Albertosaurs, seemed like commands to the pack. 3 of the raptors started going to the right, seeing that this could be fun. another 3 went the other side, and the Albertosaurs started backing off. then, Exile and Blade, seeing that it was actually working [much to their surprise seeing as Shadow used a similar tactic, which failed], went on either side of Fatalis and started hissing as loud as they could. then the rest of the rescue group joined in. the Albertosaurs, confused and scared, backed off a bit more, then retreated, only to find Hunter standing right behind him, his stealth skill allowing him to sneak up on them. he roared loudly, and the Albertosaurs ran as fast as they could, heading out of Crusher's territory. the pack barked cheerfully. they had never managed to pull this off before. scaring off larger predators was unheard of in this pack, but Fatalis and the other lone raptors around the island, dubbed Lone Wolves by the scientists a few years ago, were well aware of this tactic, and were using it quite often when they wanted a meal but couldn't find the energy to hunt. Fatalis looked at the pack, who looked at him, surprised "How did it work?! our last leader, Shadow, killed most of the pack trying to use a similar tactic and it wouldn't work!". Fatalis smiled then barked "It's simple. they arent ver large predators. 3 of us could kill one of them if we worked together, and focused our attacks. they know that, so they try and use their size to scare us into splitting up, making us easy targets. if we stay together, and treat them like we would an agressive herbivore, they get scared, and run to avoid getting killed. when they see we're not frightened, they become frightened. they panic, and flee. it's as simple as that". Hunter growled "Who are you?". Exile barked "This is an old friend of ours, Fatalis, from mine and Blade's previous pack. he's apparently the only other survivor. Crusher met him, but apparently, he hasn't seen you yet". Fatalis hissed "You must be Hunter, Crusher's first son. i see your leg's healed up almost perfectly. you dont have problems jumping, do you?". Hunter said "How'd you know my leg..?". Fatalis interrupted "Your father told me alot about you and the rest of his family. He tells me you're a very good fighter". Hunter smiled "I'm glad he thinks so. Anyway, i need to get back to the family. we've been having Spino scent drifting around the territory lately. im worried about the family. if you see my father, let him know we need him back at the cave. i have a feeling we have alot of Spinos to deal with". Fatalis nodded "Of course. I'll let him know next time i see him". Hunter turned around and started walking away, looking back and growled "Stop by the cave any time you like, Fatalis". Fatalis nodded, then looked at Exile and Blade, and hissed "i need to tell you two something". Exile and Blade looked at him, worried, and hissed "What is it?". Fatalis hissed "Come with me". Blade told the pack and juveniles to return to the cave, and that they would be back soon. when they left, Fatalis hissed "There are other survivors from our pack...". Blade and Exile had obviously become overjoyed at the news. Fatalis hissed "But....they're mutants who blame us for it. they want us dead, and are planning of killing us along with the pack, if my guesses are right".
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
