Crusher had been tracking the scent for a while now, and had arrived at a dead Para. with alot of difficulty and circling arounf it, he managed to figure out where the scent was headed. it was nearly impossible to pick it out among all the other scents, the decomposing Para, the Scavengers that had come by, among other things, but he had managed to keep track of a particular difference in the scent of the raptors. they now had a mutant among them. Crusher continued, wondering how much further they may have gone...
Fatalis had left the cave Exile, Blade and their pack had made their home, and had gone through the trees to explore Crusher's territory. after a little bit of exploring, he came across Crusher's family, resting in a rather large ditch which was smooth all around, and all the way in, making it a perfect resting place for the family. Rampage was watching Razor jump around catching Dragonflies in the late afternoon sun wile she was told by Tornado about the past of Crusher's family. Razor was obviously enjoying himself, his chirps and growls as he caught one Dragonfly after another expressing his joy. Lightning was nuzzling Hunter while watching Rox try and nip at Razor's tail as he jumped around. Fatalis barked "Hunter!". Hunter looked in the direction of the bark, and growled "Who is it?". Fatalis jumped out of the trees, and landed on the ground a few feet from Hunter. "It's me, Fatalis". Hunter growled "Welcome to the nest, Fatalis. as you've probably guessed, this is my family. my Great Grandfather, Tornado, my mother, Rampage, my mate, Lightning, my brother Razor and my daughter Rox. have you seen my father though?". Fatalis nodded and hissed "He went to track down some raptors that have been an annoyance lately. apparently, they consider Exile and Blade's pack a rival and an invader on their territory, so Crusher's gone there to talk them into understanding that the territory belongs to him and they are his allies. if that doesn't work though, i dont know what he'll do". Hunter growled "Well, he doesn't like mutants very much, so if these raptors are even slightly mutated, he'll probably rip them to shreds. mutants are the reason his family was killed off. together, the Spinos would never have been able to kill them all, but when the Raptors managed to split the already frightened family up, they became easy targets for small packs of Spinos. so, put simply, the one thing you dont want to have messing around with my father, is a mutant raptor. he told me he had developed a strategy against them. he didn't tell me what it was though. he was too busy at the time, focusing on a bit of prey". after that, Fatalis looked at Tornado, and did what could be described as a bow of respect. Tornado growled "Dont do that Fatalis. i am a predator just like any other. i dont deserve any special treatment over any other member of my family". Fatalis hissed "Still, having the original Most Dominant predator of the island standing before me is an honour that demands my respect". Tornado growled "Well, my grandson, Crusher, is the most dominant now. he is far more dangerous than i am. if anyone deserves that kind of respect, it's him. he avenged his entire family for what the Spinos had done". Fatalis nodded, and watched Razor, who was still hopping around catching dragonflies. next thing he knew, Rox was charging at him. he smiled, and jumped. she stopped and looked around. he had disappeared. then, she felt something lan on her back. she shook around, and managed to shake it off. she looked at what it was, and it was Fatalis, smiling. she shook her head in confusion, and went back to biting away at Razor's tail...or atleast, trying to bite it. Fatalis smiled, and growled "She'll make quite a good fighter. no doubt inheriting it from you, Hunter". Hunter smiled in pride, and growled "Fatalis, are you hungry?". Fatalis hissed "Well, as a matter of fact, i am feeling a bit hungry". Hunter looked behind him at a dead Anky they had brought to the nest recently "We couldn't eat it by ourselves. most of us had had our fill anyway. there's plenty left, if your hungry". Fatalis nodded, and jumped up into the trees over the nest, and, in a couple of seconds, landed a few feet ahead of the area he had entered the trees from, right on top of the carcass. he started eating, while the family settled down to rest. Soon, he was finished eating, and decided to stay around, after asking Hunter if it was ok. he lay down near the edge, away from the family to make sure nobody accidentally rolled onto him while resting. Now it was Tornado's turn to stand watch...
Blade and Exile had gone into the cave. Blade barked "Packmembers! we have a rival pack of 6 raptors that consider us as rivals and threats, and thieves to their territory. to make sure we all stay safe, we're going to change the sentry system until we know for sure from Crusher or Fatalis that the raptors are either dead, or have been pursuaded that this is Crusher's territory and that we are his allies, and belong here. from now until then, half the pack stays up while the other half rests, and both halves swap places every few hours through the night, until the morning comes, and the whole pack has had a decent amount of rest. the last group to stand watch gets to stay in the cave while the other half hunts for food. understood?!". the Raptors started hissing and growling in slight annoyance, but in the end, they all agreed, knowing that it was for the safety of the pack, and they couldn't think of any better ideas. Exile noticed SharpClaw was looking at them questioningly. she went over and hissed "What is it, SharpClaw?". SharpClaw was being increasingly quiet lately, and Exile was worried about her. it wasn't like her to be so quiet...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
