Fatalis barked "Silence! we need to keep to a steady plan if we want to have even the slightest bit of hope at stopping them. we cant have the lighter raptors climb the trees. the mutants can jump high enough to get onto the low branches. hiding in the trees is useless when they've seen us. also, we're not facing just 4 or 5 raptors. we're facing a pack of 30, at least, if i know the leader as much as i think i do. they're intelligent, fast, powerful and very agile. they can do all the things we can, and possibly more. we need to find a way to beat them, but attacking them isn't the answer. as for sentries, what if they are guarding areas these raptors dont go? they dont stay in one place, that im sure of. they definately dont have a pattern, otherwise one of us would've picked it up ages ago. they're like a pack of lone wolves together. they dont have a pattern. they just roam the island, learning as much as they can about the positions of their enemies, using other predators that they're familiar with to give them information. if anything, this conflict will be one of alliances, not packs. it's probably going to depend on whose allies are stronger, as, in skill, we're nearly tied. when i fought one, neither of us could land a significant blow on the other. once the others joined in, i had no choice but to escape, as i would've been killed if i had waited longer". Saberclaw, rather annoyed with the switching in plans, growled "So, Fatalis, what do you suppose we do? search the forest and risk an attack? or just remain where we are until they find us?". Fatalis shook his head and hissed " neither. i'll use myself as live bait. im the one they want. i'll go after them while the rest of the targets hide somewhere safe. after i come across one, which, judging by a Megaraptor attack we recently suffered, wont be long, i'll wound the first of the Mutants that come near me. after that, i'll hide as fast as i can. after that, we can use the trail of blood to lead us to where they are. as soon as i've wounded it and lost the pursuer, i'll call you, and move south by half a kilometer from the location. after that, i'll wait. then we can trace it to the raptors and ambush them. we'll need as much stealth as we can manage, and must be very careful not to blow our cover once we reach them. it's risky, but if it works, they'll be caught by complete surprise, and even if we dont succeed on the first attack, the wounded one will be turned on for leading us to them, lessening their numbers by a raptor or more if the fight gets bloody. who agrees with me?"...
after Crusher adn his family had finished eating, Tornado growled "Crusher. come with me, i want to speak with you". Crusher got up, and the 2 left through the trees, heading for the gam trail...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
