Fatalis shook his head. Steeltalon wasn't understanding the fact that raptors which didn't have a routine wouldn't go to the same place twice unless they had no other choice. he barked "Look, brothers. the Ultraraptors are not going to be as easy to take out as a normal pack. not only are they especially powerful and capable mutants, because they were exceptional raptors to start with, but they also use similar tactics to our own. it's like facing a pack of Lone Wolves. they, like us, have no routine. we dont go on specific routes around the island. we roam. as such, our only answer is to wait for them to find us. until then, we'll need to move in pairs. that way, we have a better chance of marking them and surviving an attack. for stealth reasons, i dont think they'll move in groups over 5. the main pack probably roam, and tell the attack group where to meet them after they're job has been done. if we manage to wound one, it'll leave a stronger scent. the blood will double the scent of the mutants and will help lead us straight to them. the problem is, when we find them, how will we attack them. we could surround them, but what if they already know we're behind them, and counter us? we could end up in a very dangerous situation. the sentries would be good against the Megaraptors, because they're bigger, and have a tendency to move in packs of 3 to 5, and have set territories. my expectations are that, if we successfully attack the mutants and hurt them, they'll seek the help of the Mega Raptors, and move between their territories, limiting their movement to a more predictable pattern, which will let us use them to our advantage, and take them out with less risk to ourselves. managing to capture a mutant would also be useful. that way, i can question them for more information, and use that information to find out what they want, why they want to kill us, what the use of Night was, and what pattern they may have". one of the Lone Wolves, Needle, hissed "I dont trust that female you brought here, Fatalis. she'll only cause trouble!". Fatalis barked "She's a good ally, a good friend, and a very safe companion to travel with. she may be our key to finding out where the Ultraraptors' weaknesses are". Needle snarled "Why dont we just kill her and se what hurts her the most?! then we'd know how to hurt the mutants!!!". Fatalis barked "You'd have my claws jutting out of your skull if you tried it, Needle". Saberclaw barked "ENOUGH! she has shown us no reason to distrust her. let's not show her any reason to do so, either! she's one of us now, and those of you who dont like that choice, aren't one of us. you should leave and find yourselves a pack to live in that's prejudiced and doesn't like mutants, as that is obviously where you belong. most of us are outcasts ourselves! Me, Fatalis and Goldfang for example! we have feather quills on the top of our heads, like mutants. we have unusual colours, like mutants. we're more skilled than normal raptors, like mutants! most of the Lone Wolves are like that! and you say you cant trust a mutant?! you'r a mutant yourself! can you trust yourself?! can you? if you can, you can trust Steeltalon!". Saberclaw looked at Fatalis, who responded with a nod of thanks. Saberclaw barked "Look. as long as these Ultraraptors are on the loose, we're ALL in danger. if we dont work together, we will be the ones to be killed off, not them. do you want to die at the claws of a bunch of raptors who are driven by unfounded and unneeded bloodlust?!". the Lone Wovles all snarled a NO in unison. Saberclaw barked "Well, in that case, stop fighting with eachother over a mutant among us and help save yourselves from these attackers! We need to solve this problem, and until we work together, we wont be able to survive the attacks these Ultraraptors make. understood?!". the Lone Wolves nodded, and then fell silent, waiting the commands of Saberclaw, Fatalis and Goldfang. Fatalis wondered where Steeltalon was going. he hoped she was ok. alone, she was at risk of attack by jsut about anything...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
