The dark raptor could not believe what he was hearing. After getting separated from his childhood friend, the raptor had, unfortunately, run into an old...acquaintance. To even use such a word to describe his relationship with the raptor in front of him was painful and inaccurate. Eclipse was a raptor four times his senior, whose reputation he could still recall with disgust from his days in the family pack. The female had, like many others, attempted to assume leadership of the pack. And again like all the others, failed. Her leadership was noteworthy in demonstrating how truly self-centered the raptor was, however. Not only had he found this remnant of his past, but now she told him that the pack had survived, at least partly. Darkness knew that not all had perished that day, but it seemed as if they abandoned each other completely.
"Would I lie to you?" Eclipse purred, the raptor drinking in the confusion on the dark raptor's features. Darkness gave her a serious look. "So you do remember me. I'm flattered."
"Enough. Where are they? How did they survive? Who is left?" Darkness growled sternly, knowing Eclipse's nature well enough to stay on topic. The other raptor seemed disappointed.
"I could show you. I think I owe you that much, abandoning you all just before that terrible incident..." Eclipse responded with mock concern. Despite her tendency to lie and deceive, Darkness was inclined to accept the offer. He figured his turmoil over the incident would be payment enough for her to stay true to her word.
"After you, then," Darkness growled, gesturing with a clawed hand. Eclipse bowed dramatically before trotting off, the dark raptor following close behind.
