Isla Sorna Stories RPG

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

Postby Doc 42 » Thu May 03, 2007 10:50 pm

Xanther added to the conversation with a growl "My uhhh freinds, I have seen them during war time when they have angred someone or the other way around.... and basicly they move about their forest switching resting places constantly. But each time they left a spot they killed and spread compy blood around where they slept. It was almost impossible to track them by smell. Do you think, by any chance, your old pack members do the same thing?" He looked at Echo, the unconsis mutant. He hoped someone would kill it. a few of his close freinds had died in the fight earlier.

Faalis hissed "Well, back when i was with them, they didn't have many wars. they were known as the mightiest raptor pack on the island, and nobody during my life with them had dared to challenge them. but if they are planning to hide, they may do just that". Crusher growled "Doesn't really matter. i know someone who knows just about everything of importance that occurs on the island. he knew me before i even knew he existed. he knew me while i was still in an egg. he knew about things that normal dinosaurs hadn't even hoped to know. if anyone knows where these raptors are, he will. and if they trully were the mightiest raptor pack, he will definately know. he'll be keeping an eye on them"...

Goldfang swerved around as he saw Crusher leave. Berserk was also leaving. He had scars down his back from the attack but fine nonetheless. Goldfang had not suffered a single wound in the attack. But was worn out though. He had not seen so many at one time. "I know my father and i know that he is very cunning. He will try to bring us down when he gets the best possible chance. We have to stick together. Its useless if we separate, we'll get picked off easily. Sooner or later we are going to have to take Reaper down and I will be the one to execute him but he has heaps of his pack guarding him. I know that for some it means we are killing pack members that once belonged to your own packs but we cannot save them. They are corrupted far beyond being saved now. They only serve my father now. Who knows what other "friends" he might have down there but we need to act fast. For now I will spy on Reaper, once I have identified the flaws in the pack i will report back and tell you Fatalis and Crusher and then we can figure something out. Another thing is I recommend trying to make an alliance with someone else. Maybe Allosaurs would help. Anyway, we will decide this tomorrow, until then I will spy on Reaper. See ya!" He growled before leaving into the trees. Berserk lumbered off into his part of the area....

Larius in the meantime was heading toward the meeting with 7 bull gigas. They could sense Crusher was indeed very close. They noticed a shape in the distance not far when they saw the fellow Tyrannosaur coming their way...

Razorclaw barked "look, they've jsut made an attack and had a larger number of casualties than us. they'll probably be regrouping, resting up and trying to figure out who exactly we have in our "alliance". they'll know Crusher, and, by what some of the lone mutants around the island say, their worst fear is Crusher, due to what he had done to them in the past. they'll need time to regroup, plan the next attack, organise who they need to bring along to distract Crusher, and several other things. it's that sort of planning problems that we deliberately avoided by becoming Lone Wolves"...

Crusher spotted a bunch of Gigas in the distance. bot they weren't supposed to be in this area. they had rights to move around in the south-eastern area of the territory, but the north-eastern areas were off limits to Gigas. Crusher looked at them, and made a warning roar to let them know they didn't have the right to be in this part of his territory. Fatalis hissed "Who are they?". Crusher snarled "A Giga named Larius and his pack members. i know him, but he apparently doesn't know that this area is off limits to Gigas". Crusher stared the Gigas in the face, his teeth bared in warning that they were entering land that they didn't have rights to move in...

Larius realized then that Crusher was making a warning bark at him. He and the others were a little confused but then Larius remembered that he was not allowed in the north-eastern area, he had accidently walked in on it. He gave a replying bellow. "Forgive me Crusher for i was unaware of my presence on the wrong side of the territory that I was given permission to stay in. I am sorry. We will leave if you wish." he growled. Larius then noticed Crusher's scars, they were new wounds but hardly deep by the least. "Crusher are you alright? Something has happened here. I have seen lots of corpses of carnivores scattered about. What's going on? Has this to do with the Ultra Raptors?" He asked.

Crusher nodded, and snarled "Their next attack will be their last. however, i have other things to tend to. if you really want to help me, go to the 3 raptors over by the one held down by the rock, and guard them until i return"...

Crusher looked back towards the 4 Raptors in the distance, one on thwe ground, surrounded by 2 others. he growled "Over there ,by the stream. make sure they dont get attacked". he then walked off with the Lone Wolves following him, leaving the 4 raptors and the Giga pack behind...

Crusher growled "Until i return. i'll be back by sunset". he left, the Lone Wolves following him. after a couple of hours walking, the place he wanted to go was within sight...an abandoned human building, which had part of it's roof missing due to a fight several years ago. the skeleton of the loser of the fight still lay there, in a massive pile of shattered bones that could be made out as a Giganotosaurus of immense proportions; Grunt; the Giga which had killed one of Crusher's sons, and died by the jaws of Crusher soon after. the skeleton was a mess. the only thing that showed that this was a Giga was the immense size and a small part the base of the snout, which still had part of the bony double ridge that Gigas were known for. most of the snout had been crushed with the final hit by Crusher, he jaws slamming downwards into the skull of the mighty predator, crushing the skull to a bloody pulp. the Raptors watched the scene, as Crusher walked over to it, and intentionally stepped on the remains of the Giga's ribs as he headed for the building. only Fatalis knew the story behind the Giga and Crusher. the others were bewildered. Crusher walked through a large hole where a 4 floor high window once was, and growled "Ripper! where are you?!". Fatalis followed, but stayed outside the building, watching. soon, there was a clacking sound that sounded like claws hitting metal. Fatalis looked towards the source, but saw nothing. then, another clack on the other side of the massive room. when he looked, he still saw nothing. then he heard a growl by his ear "You wont find me there ,Fatalis". Fatalis turned around to see an elderly faded orange skinned, tiger striped Velociraptor a bit bigger than himself. he snarled "Who are you?". he was startled. how did the raptor know his name? at his question the raptor jumped, and seemingly disappeared. Fatalis looked around, and heard Crusher growl "Ripper. show yourself. i need to speak with you". then, yet another clack. Fatalis looked at the source and this time, spotted the greyish orange Raptor. Crusher growled "getting more active, Ripper?". The raptor hissed "much more. so many...so many things happening lately. Mutant packs attacking other raptors, Gigas...fighting over territory, Spinos returning at an alarming rate, giant crocodiles appearing in our rivers that are as long as Tyrannosaurs...soo many things...". Riper sounded out of breath, but it was his extreme age. it had made him slow in speaking. he would stop during his talking to take a small breath. it was hard to believe that this raptor was the most skilled fighter on the island, capable of killing anything it wanted. with breathing like that, one would think this raptor was at death's door already. but in fact, it was far from weak. Crusher growled "Spinos returning? i didn't think they could". Ripper hissed "Neither did i, but, that's natures way sometimes. things that dont deserve to disappear, dont. but im sure that's not what you and the Lone Wolves are here for now, is it?". Fatalis stared at the raptor in confusion from behind the wall which almost totally hid him. the raptor stared right at him with a single, frighteningly fast movement. Fatalis backed off a bit when Ripper stared at him, and Ripper barked "Dont fear me, child. fear your enemies". Fatalis looked at the raptor in confusion at what the Raptor had said, and it barked "The Shadow Raptors. your old pack. the mutants". Fatalis cocked his head. who were the "Shadow Raptors"? how did he know about his old pack? how did he know that he was once part of the pack of mutants that were behind all the conflicts among raptors? Ripper hissed "Come here, child. i wont hurt you, or any of your friends. what you should fear is the young Albertosaur behind you". Fatalis hesitated, then turned his head. as the raptor had said, a young, raptor sized Albertosaurus walked into the clearing. it walked around, sniffing the air for scents. it spotted him and roared. Crusher turned his head and looked at it, and it suddenly fell silent. it hadn't noticed him until then, since he was dark grey, the same colour as the inside of the building. as it saw what seemed to be a chunk of the building turn to face him, it froze with fear. it backed off slowly, until a loud, aggressive territorial roar came from whatever was in the building. it then ran off in fear, frightened of what seemed to be a building that could roar. Ripper barked "good one, Crusher. now it probably thinks...the building is alive". Crusher grinned and Ripper looked at Fatalis and barked "Come in, come in, and call your friends as well. there are...all sorts of things out there. this is...Carnotaurus territory". Fatalis could feel a chill run down his spine at that word. Carnotaurus. the most lethal creature to something that was fast enough to escape just about anything. these things could camouflage so well they seemed to be invisible, meaning Fatalis couldn't see what he was running from, or into. Fatalis made 3 barks and a screech, and the Lone Wolves moved forward into the building. 30 Lone Wolves, Crusher and Ripper was a bit of a crowd. they spread out in the massive building, and Ripper jumped again. Fatalis just looked at him, astonished. how could he jump so high?! he thought. Ripper had jumped up to the 3rd floor in a single leap; something most Raptors wished they could do. Fatalis could jump to the second floor, but not the 3rd. not without a low branch or edge or something to help him. Ripper looked at the puzzled Raptor, and barked "I've been practicing for longer than even your grandfather has been alive, Fatalis. dont think that it's impossible. it's just...technique". Crusher growled "Ripper, we need some information". Fatalis "I know. you want to know...where the Shadow Raptors are". Crusher growled "Shadow Raptors?". Ripper barked "Yes...Shadow Raptors...Fatalis' old pack...that's the name given to that pack...because of their speed and stealth.. Crusher growled "do you know where they are now?". Ripper looked at him, his face a look of deep thought. after a few moments silence, he growled "Near the waterfall to the south of your territory. in a small cave. i'd hurry if i were you. wont be long before they move again". Fatalis barked "How many of them are there?". Ripper hissed "10. all of them survivors of your old pack. there were 16, but you have captured one. Echo. your father, midnight, your uncle, Black storm, and your cousin, Shadowfang are the leaders, with your father ruling over the entire pack, and the others just controlling them as second and third in command. your mother was killed when she tried to tell them that it wasn't your fault they were attacked. your sister White death is one of the fastest in the pack. you might want to be careful. they are the ones you want to be extra careful of. the others are just all around better than the average mutants. but these 4 are far above any of the others. from what i have seen, it seems that Midnight has control over a number of mutant packs. they fear him so much that they'll do whatever he says. it's like they're part of his pack. Reaper, another Mutant pack leader, is also under the influence of Midnight, though to a lesser extent than others, due to their relation. be warned though, your father's plans are frighteningly efficient and lethal. if he decides to attack your friends, you have little chance of surviving. the only way to hit him at his weak point is to take him by surprise. dont give him any warning. that way, he wont have time to organize an effective counter-attack, which means you'll only have their fighting skill to worry about". Fatalis looked at Ripper, amazed. Ripper then looked at Crusher, and hissed "Anything else?". Crusher nodded, then growled "Has my grandather, Tornado visited you yet?". Ripper nodded. Crusher growled "Good. who has he gone looking for?". Ripper barked "Your brother, Tyrant". Crusher nodded, then growled "Thank you Ripper". Ripper nodded, and turned to head into one of the many doors in the massive building's walls. Crusher watched the Raptor walk slowly towards the door. some raptors followed, watching him. when he entered the door, some of the Raptors looked in, only to find an empty hallway. not a trace of the elderly raptor. Crusher was one of the ones who looked in and found nothing but a dusty, aging hallway, which seemed to have a mist hanging in the air inside it. he looked at Fatalis, who also saw how Ripper had seemingly disappeared. Fatalis hissed "how did he...?". the raptors gave Crusher looks of shock and confusion. Crusher growled "Dont ask me...". the group then headed back towards where Echo, Razorclaw, Xanther and Needle waited withthe Gigas. they'd reach there soon. the sun was setting...

Steeltalon slipped out of her cave some time later and just stood, relaxed for once, staring at the sunset. The multiple reds, oranges and yellows always made Steeltalon feel calm, though she never dropped her guard. Her red eyes kept darting first to one side, then the other, and once in a while she'd turn her head to look behind her. After a while, Steeltalon settled down and stared up at the treetops, mulling over all that had happened.

It's like a dream, she thought. One thing happening right after the other...I wish I could wake up from the nightmare we call life.

Hunt stood among the trees anxiously. The green and yellow spinosaur was camoflauged for now but that wouldnt help him when the fight starts. He watched The characa eat for another while. Eventually he decided. if he didnt take this territory he would starve. This area was perfect for him, he couldnt let it go. He Charged out from his hiding spot, his feet leaving small quakes and roared. The charca spun roud in suprise. Hunt sung his head down and tried to clamp his jaws on its neck. But his jaws were not powerfull enough and it shook him off. It gave a roar and went to bite him on the snout. He jumped back just in time to avoid the Charcas mouth. The charca may be stronger built but he had a height advantage. He curved his neck and prepared to strike but before he could hit it. The beast bit at him again, this time catching his upper chest where his neck meets his body. It was about to rip a chnk out of him, but he brought down a three clawed hand and slashed at its eyes. It backed away in pain. he took the oppertunity to attack and he grabed its back and bit down. But again his jaws werent powerful enough. The charca tried to swing its head up wards into his chest, but just in time Hunt dodge back only being skimmed slightly. With its head high in the air the charca was vunreable. Hunt bit at the charcas neck and swung. After a awhile of struggleing his teeth managed to tear through its throat and it collapsed to the ground dead.
Hunt back away from the body with blood dripping from his mouth, he couldnt belive it. He had won! The territroy was his! Happily he started eating the corpse of his foe with the sun setting behind him.

Larius and the other gigas walked over to the 4 lone wolves who barked in fear especially at the site of the enormous giga Larius was. Larius quickly barked back at them. "Do not fear us, we are allies of Crusher. We were told to protect you 4 until he comes back which should be at sunset." Growled Larius. The raptors calmed themselves. "I still need to know your names." Said Larius growling again...

Goldfang awoke to something moving outside his small cave. He got up and looked outside to investigate. He only saw it was a young Herrerrasaurus just hunting which scampered out of sight when it saw Goldfang. Goldfang felt hungry, he decided to go hunting. It was not night time yet but the sun was setting in the distance. Most animals would be resting now. As he walked through the shrubs things went through his mind, a gigantic Tyrannosaur he only met not long ago, and his father Reaper who was one of the leaders of the Ultra Raptors entirely corrupted. But he doubted that Reaper was THE leader over all the Ultras, there maybe another pack out there. But Reaper most likely owned the largest pack of Ultras on the island. He had corrupted so many under his tyranny that it was hard to say. At least he knew that Reaper did not move far from his lair. He only sent out scouts to hunt. Taking on Reaper would be hard but Goldfang knew Reaper's weaknesses. But even Reaper's weakness points were gonna be hard to hit. Killing him though would shake up the Ultra Raptors dramatically. However, Goldfang was special, he had his father's instincts and abilities past on. This did not make him an Ultra Raptor seeing as he was the same as every lone wolf but he was just as skilled as Reaper before his corruption. He walked slowly without a sound so as not to scare anything he encountered. He headed past a group of trees before seeing something very interesting up ahead. Goldfang saw 4 lone wolves he recognized earlier with 8 Gigas. What interested him was the one who was the largest, it was huge, larger than the others and it was over the size of an adult Giga. Almost the size of Crusher. It along with the other 7 adult gigas was talking with the 4 raptors. He guessed then they had to be friends of Crusher or some of the raptors. He approached the gigas slowly...

"What's it to you, Giga?" hissed Needle bitterly. Razorclaw barked "Have some respect for the ones who are protecting you, Needle!". he then looked at the Gigas and hissed "My name is Razorclaw, this, as you may have already gathered, is Needle. to my right is Xanther"...

Pitch blackness was all he could see. around him, he could hear voices. other raptors were around him. however, they weren't familiar voices. he tried to open his eyes but couldn't. he just made a weak hiss "Fatalissss...."...

Razorclaw looked down at the unconscious raptor, almost prepared to swear he had heard a sound come from it. for now, he ignored it...

Crusher was on his way back, the Raptors around him. questions were being asked. one of the Lone Wolves, Blackdeath, known for his speed, lethality in a fight, and his completely black colour, hissed "Whose skeleton was that, Crusher?". Fatalis showed a look of nervousness at that question, knowing Crusher was almost definately going to get a bit angered telling them about it. Crusher hesitated, then growled "That was one of the most powerful predators that have ever lived on this island. several years ago, when the Suchos disappeared, he went after them. the Suchos had gone across the water to another island, to escape this Giga, which, for some reason, wanted them all dead. if i remember correctly, it was because they had killed his mate. what happened during his time on this island before that, he had been living in the polluted lake. he had grown to immense proportions, and was slightly larger than i am now. when the Suchos had returned, so had he, but his chasing had driven him insane. he decided he wanted the entire island. he wanted to be the most dominant. and to do that, he'd have to defeat me. my first encounter was on a dark, clear night. i was patrolling the island and spotted a large body moving in the sea water over the edge of the short cliff i was on. later, when he finally did encounter me, he outdid me on our first fight, and knocked me out for 2 days. during that time.....he took over a large portion of my territory....and...he killed my son. he ate him alive, leaving nothing but a droplet of blood on the shore as a sign that he had ever existed. i didn't know until after i had woken up and eaten a bit. i was still thirsty, but my eldest son, Hunter, found me before i found water. when he told me, i called him for a challenge from right by that building. he was in the center of the island. he was nearly half the length of the island away, but i called him and challenged him to a final fight. and i killed him. you can ask my son if you want to know more". Fatalis had noticed Crusher's eyes had gone from turqoise to yellow, showing this story still effected him alot. Fatalis feared to think what would happen if it ever repeated itself with any of his family. the group arrived, and Crusher noticed the Gigas were asking the raptors a few questions. he also noticed that Echo was stirring a bit. he grunted "Fatalis...look. your brother's moving. make sure they dont stay too close to him. a single wrong move and we'll have a dead raptor instead of a guard watching over him". Fatalis barked twice and shreiked twice, and the Raptors near Echo immediately moved out of the way. Crusher admired the ease of communication that the Lone Wolves had. they were impossible to figure out by any other than Lone Wolves. Crusher didn't understand what it was Fatalis was saying through those shreiks, barks and screeches, but he knew that it was definately a way of communication other than the usual Raptor's way of communicating. he looked at the Gigas and growled "Thank you. if you wish to leave, you may go. please, avoid coming to this area again. i have protection deals with other predators, giving them small parts of my territory in exchange for complete protection of the borders of my territory. by entering a part i haven't allowed you to enter or given as your part of my territory, you are practically entering another predator's domain, and that would anger my friends; predators i have made deals with". he then looked at the Raptors, to see what they were gonig to do. Echo was still stirring slightly...

NOTE: Crusher's size has been changed. he is now 65.4 feet long, instead of 85. 4 feet. he's also shorter [23.4 feet], and lighter [10.2 tons].

Larius turned around to see Crusher. He nodded his head in agreement. This was not his territory, it belonged to Crusher. It seemed Crusher was also in a bit of an unhappy mood by the look of his eyes. Larius knew then why Crusher was in a territorial mood. Ever since the humans came to the island and captured him, Crusher's territory had been taken over. He saw the lone wolves looking at him, staring out Larius's enormous size. But they were calm though as Crusher was talking to him. "Yes, I shall leave, I will make sure I don't cross this area again unless it were for a great reason. Me and my pack shall stick to the area we have permission to stay in and go no further. But if you need any help, then please don't hesitate to tell me Crusher. Oh and by the way." Growled Larius turning to the 4 raptors he was protecting at the time "These Lone Wolves of yours have caused no trouble in your absence and have been very friendly to us. But we will go now." he said before he noted his Gigas to get going. They headed off back into the area of theirs near the sauropod plains. He noticed the female gigas were eating the carcass of the Argentinosaur still. Larius looked out toward the plains, he decided now would be a good time to test his own skills against something better. He saw an adult fully grown alpha male Brachiosaur munching away on Paleo trees. Brachiosaurs were never even touched by predators as adults. Not even a Spinosaur dare attack them because of their sheer size. Larius had once challenged a Brachiosaur when he was younger but did not win. The brachiosaur almost killed him. He had retreated. But now that he was one of the largest predators on the island this was a good opportunity. The bull was alone with no one else around. Larius positioned himself for the attack. The other gigas were off feeding on the Argentinosaur...

Goldfang watched as the gigas headed off and came out of the shrubs. He noticed the lone wolves were with Crusher. Judging by the site of Crusher, they had seen something out there and it looked like they weren't about to tell him. So Goldfang decided to investigate the matter for himself. He walked past Crusher and the lone wolves in which some noticed him and bobbed their heads in recognition before chatting away. He could tell which way they all came from judging by the trampled marks in the ground and all the plants stepped on. He headed through the path of broken plants out into an opening where he found an old building in ruins...

Crusher looked at the raptors, and growled "I need to do a patrol of my territory. after im done, i'll return. until then, i suggest you send out a couple of scouts to see what your father's nest looks like. find out how well defended it is". Fatalis nodded, and Crusher left, small quakes shaking thr ground below them with each of his mighty steps...

Fatalis looked at the Raptors, and barked "So, who's going to go?". a young Lone Wolf named Ghost stepped forward. "I will" he hissed. Fatalis nodded, and barked "is anyone else willing to go?". Needle hissed "me, Fatalis". Fatalis hissed "Good. now, i need both of you to go to the nest. Ghost you lead, since you know where it is. when you get there, use the treetops to spy on them. if you stay too low, there's a risk that they may see you. once you've seen what sort of protection they have, return. by then, Crusher will've finished his patrol, and we can move forward". Ghost and Needle nodded, and Ghost left, closely followed by Needle. Fatalis then turned back to watch Echo, who was stirring a bit...

Clawfist, Softfoot, Sandstorm, DarkFang, Quick tooth and Shadow leaf all stood around the utah raptor. They had decided insted of killing it, they would just tell it to leave their territory. It was scared of them but was starting to feel safe. Clawfist growled "Ok I think the pack your looking for is to the south of here. Walk in that direction and you should find them within a day. But remember this very important, dont wander. Go almost staright. If you do aend up wandering and you see a human building walk backwards untill your at least 10 miles away from it, okay?" The Utah raptor looked puzzeled he hissed "Why? Whats in the building?" Clawfists face darkened and he hissed "I dont know. And I dont want to know." The utah raptors face was completely bewildered Softfoot growled "We cant remember much from before our pack was destryed in the stampede, but leading up to that our pack was wandereing, we had been kicked out of our home, I think, I was pretty young then, but one day we found this old ruin. 6 raptors charged inside delighted to have found a new home, they ran in hoping to scare out anything that might be in there, then we heared a screech, alot of clanging and another screech. We went as far as the door and in the corridor were all 6 raptors, dead.
Then we turned and ran, in two days time our pack was crushed by a terrfyed herd scared to death by some creatures roar. Good luck on your journy and have a nice time
"
The Utah raptors face was a mixture of horor and fear. He growled "thanks, Thanks alot" And started walking south.

Reaper lurked in his cave, he was not hungry by the least, he had already eaten after the pack brought him a young iguanodon to feast upon. He remembered the squealing noises it made before he killed it with a swift cut to the neck which happend in miliseconds. The animal had been so helpless especially when the pack was holding it down to prevent it from running. More kills had been brought in, some were Tenontosaurs and they were very hard to bring down. They hypsolophodontid dinosaurs but the largest of their kind. Unlike other Hypsolophodontids, these ones walked on 4 legs. They were what connected hypsolphodontids and iguanodontids to similar families. Tenontosaurs had other relatives similar but not on Isla Sorna. Tenontosaurs normally died from exhaustion and not from wounds. Most of the time raptors were crushed in bringing down an adult. Reaper had eaten the igaunodon swiftly. Reaper thought as he sat in the darkness looking into one of the pools that was corrupted with the mutant gene about his brother Midnight and what he was doing. Midnight may have control on most packs but he had not much control over Reaper. Reaper now was in control of one very strong pack that was almost unbeatable. Reaper and his brother had been separated long ago. Reaper was just as strong as Midnight but Midnight was possibly more terrifying. He knew that Midnight had a son out there called Fatalis, the one who called the conference with the lone wolves. That was just after both Midnight and Reaper's sons had met each other. Goldfang was the last of his family left. Reaper knew it was the right thing to do to kill the rest of his children off. They had no hope without their mother Tranquil around to protect them if their father were hurt or worse killed. There were larger predators out there even more terrifying than them. Reaper remembered Tranquil's face, he then shook her from his mind as it began to bother him. His pitch black eyes widened to anyone around him but there was no one. He relaxed and continued to think about the amount of times he had raided herds of dinosaurs without a single loss and how much the animals squealed at his mercy before he killed them along with their hatchlings and enjoyed it...
