Crusher growled "Until i return. i'll be back by sunset". he left, the Lone Wolves following him. after a couple of hours walking, the place he wanted to go was within sight...an abandoned human building, which had part of it's roof missing due to a fight several years ago. the skeleton of the loser of the fight still lay there, in a massive pile of shattered bones that could be made out as a Giganotosaurus of immense proportions; Grunt; the Giga which had killed one of Crusher's sons, and died by the jaws of Crusher soon after. the skeleton was a mess. the only thing that showed that this was a Giga was the immense size and a small part the base of the snout, which still had part of the bony double ridge that Gigas were known for. most of the snout had been crushed with the final hit by Crusher, he jaws slamming downwards into the skull of the mighty predator, crushing the skull to a bloody pulp. the Raptors watched the scene, as Crusher walked over to it, and intentionally stepped on the remains of the Giga's ribs as he headed for the building. only Fatalis knew the story behind the Giga and Crusher. the others were bewildered. Crusher walked through a large hole where a 4 floor high window once was, and growled "Ripper! where are you?!". Fatalis followed, but stayed outside the building, watching. soon, there was a clacking sound that sounded like claws hitting metal. Fatalis looked towards the source, but saw nothing. then, another clack on the other side of the massive room. when he looked, he still saw nothing. then he heard a growl by his ear "You wont find me there ,Fatalis". Fatalis turned around to see an elderly faded orange skinned, tiger striped Velociraptor a bit bigger than himself. he snarled "Who are you?". he was startled. how did the raptor know his name? at his question the raptor jumped, and seemingly disappeared. Fatalis looked around, and heard Crusher growl "Ripper. show yourself. i need to speak with you". then, yet another clack. Fatalis looked at the source and this time, spotted the greyish orange Raptor. Crusher growled "getting more active, Ripper?". The raptor hissed "much more. so many...so many things happening lately. Mutant packs attacking other raptors, Gigas...fighting over territory, Spinos returning at an alarming rate, giant crocodiles appearing in our rivers that are as long as Tyrannosaurs...soo many things...". Riper sounded out of breath, but it was his extreme age. it had made him slow in speaking. he would stop during his talking to take a small breath. it was hard to believe that this raptor was the most skilled fighter on the island, capable of killing anything it wanted. with breathing like that, one would think this raptor was at death's door already. but in fact, it was far from weak. Crusher growled "Spinos returning? i didn't think they could". Ripper hissed "Neither did i, but, that's natures way sometimes. things that dont deserve to disappear, dont. but im sure that's not what you and the Lone Wolves are here for now, is it?". Fatalis stared at the raptor in confusion from behind the wall which almost totally hid him. the raptor stared right at him with a single, frighteningly fast movement. Fatalis backed off a bit when Ripper stared at him, and Ripper barked "Dont fear me, child. fear your enemies". Fatalis looked at the raptor in confusion at what the Raptor had said, and it barked "The Shadow Raptors. your old pack. the mutants". Fatalis cocked his head. who were the "Shadow Raptors"? how did he know about his old pack? how did he know that he was once part of the pack of mutants that were behind all the conflicts among raptors? Ripper hissed "Come here, child. i wont hurt you, or any of your friends. what you should fear is the young Albertosaur behind you". Fatalis hesitated, then turned his head. as the raptor had said, a young, raptor sized Albertosaurus walked into the clearing. it walked around, sniffing the air for scents. it spotted him and roared. Crusher turned his head and looked at it, and it suddenly fell silent. it hadn't noticed him until then, since he was dark grey, the same colour as the inside of the building. as it saw what seemed to be a chunk of the building turn to face him, it froze with fear. it backed off slowly, until a loud, aggressive territorial roar came from whatever was in the building. it then ran off in fear, frightened of what seemed to be a building that could roar. Ripper barked "good one, Crusher. now it probably thinks...the building is alive". Crusher grinned and Ripper looked at Fatalis and barked "Come in, come in, and call your friends as well. there are...all sorts of things out there. this is...Carnotaurus territory". Fatalis could feel a chill run down his spine at that word. Carnotaurus. the most lethal creature to something that was fast enough to escape just about anything. these things could camouflage so well they seemed to be invisible, meaning Fatalis couldn't see what he was running from, or into. Fatalis made 3 barks and a screech, and the Lone Wolves moved forward into the building. 30 Lone Wolves, Crusher and Ripper was a bit of a crowd. they spread out in the massive building, and Ripper jumped again. Fatalis just looked at him, astonished. how could he jump so high?! he thought. Ripper had jumped up to the 3rd floor in a single leap; something most Raptors wished they could do. Fatalis could jump to the second floor, but not the 3rd. not without a low branch or edge or something to help him. Ripper looked at the puzzled Raptor, and barked "I've been practicing for longer than even your grandfather has been alive, Fatalis. dont think that it's impossible. it's just...technique". Crusher growled "Ripper, we need some information". Fatalis "I know. you want to know...where the Shadow Raptors are". Crusher growled "Shadow Raptors?". Ripper barked "Yes...Shadow Raptors...Fatalis' old pack...that's the name given to that pack...because of their speed and stealth.. Crusher growled "do you know where they are now?". Ripper looked at him, his face a look of deep thought. after a few moments silence, he growled "Near the waterfall to the south of your territory. in a small cave. i'd hurry if i were you. wont be long before they move again". Fatalis barked "How many of them are there?". Ripper hissed "10. all of them survivors of your old pack. there were 16, but you have captured one. Echo. your father, midnight, your uncle, Black storm, and your cousin, Shadowfang are the leaders, with your father ruling over the entire pack, and the others just controlling them as second and third in command. your mother was killed when she tried to tell them that it wasn't your fault they were attacked. your sister White death is one of the fastest in the pack. you might want to be careful. they are the ones you want to be extra careful of. the others are just all around better than the average mutants. but these 4 are far above any of the others. from what i have seen, it seems that Midnight has control over a number of mutant packs. they fear him so much that they'll do whatever he says. it's like they're part of his pack. Reaper, another Mutant pack leader, is also under the influence of Midnight, though to a lesser extent than others, due to their relation. be warned though, your father's plans are frighteningly efficient and lethal. if he decides to attack your friends, you have little chance of surviving. the only way to hit him at his weak point is to take him by surprise. dont give him any warning. that way, he wont have time to organize an effective counter-attack, which means you'll only have their fighting skill to worry about". Fatalis looked at Ripper, amazed. Ripper then looked at Crusher, and hissed "Anything else?". Crusher nodded, then growled "Has my grandather, Tornado visited you yet?". Ripper nodded. Crusher growled "Good. who has he gone looking for?". Ripper barked "Your brother, Tyrant". Crusher nodded, then growled "Thank you Ripper". Ripper nodded, and turned to head into one of the many doors in the massive building's walls. Crusher watched the Raptor walk slowly towards the door. some raptors followed, watching him. when he entered the door, some of the Raptors looked in, only to find an empty hallway. not a trace of the elderly raptor. Crusher was one of the ones who looked in and found nothing but a dusty, aging hallway, which seemed to have a mist hanging in the air inside it. he looked at Fatalis, who also saw how Ripper had seemingly disappeared. Fatalis hissed "how did he...?". the raptors gave Crusher looks of shock and confusion. Crusher growled "Dont ask me...". the group then headed back towards where Echo, Razorclaw, Xanther and Needle waited withthe Gigas. they'd reach there soon. the sun was setting...
